Terms of Use
Effective September 29, 2026
These terms apply to the Clockroo iPhone app and to this website, clockroo.com. They are an agreement between you and Virtual Coder Inc., a company based in Ontario, Canada. By downloading or using Clockroo you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Clockroo.
Using Clockroo
Clockroo helps you track hours worked and estimate pay. You need an iPhone with iOS 26 or later and a Clockroo account. You must be at least 16 years old. Keep your sign-in details safe and give us accurate information. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Your estimates are estimates
Clockroo calculates an estimate of your gross pay from the hours, rates and rules you enter. It is not payroll, not accounting, and not legal, tax or employment advice. It does not work out tax or deductions, and it does not check that your employer follows minimum wage, overtime or other laws. Overtime and holiday rules differ by employer, contract and place, and you choose the rules Clockroo uses.
Scanning reads text from images and can misread it. Always check the review screen before you save shifts. Compare every figure, and any timesheet you export, with your employer's records and your pay slips. An export made in Clockroo is a record you generated. It is not verified by us or by your employer.
Clockroo Pro
Clockroo is free to use for tracking. Clockroo Pro unlocks overtime and pay-period rules, holiday pay, more than one job, and PDF and CSV export. It is sold in two ways:
- Yearly: $19.99 a year (US dollars; the price in your country and currency is shown by Apple before you buy). It renews automatically every year.
- Lifetime: $39.99, paid once, with no renewals. It covers Clockroo Pro for as long as we offer Clockroo, and we will give notice before we stop.
All purchases are made through the App Store and billed by Apple to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. A yearly subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and Apple charges the renewal in the 24 hours before it ends. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings on your iPhone, under Subscriptions. Deleting your Clockroo account does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies; ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot refund App Store purchases ourselves. If you reinstall or change phone, use Restore purchases in Settings.
Your data
Your jobs, shifts and other content stay yours. You allow us to store and process them only to run Clockroo for you. How we handle personal information is explained in the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, Account in the app.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Clockroo or its exports to give your employer or anyone else false hours or pay;
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights while using Clockroo;
- try to access another person's account or data, or probe, disrupt or overload our systems;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the app or the service, except where the law allows it despite this rule;
- use bots or scripts to access the service other than through the app.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You can stop using Clockroo at any time.
Changes to the service
We may change, add or remove features, and we may change prices for new purchases and renewals. Apple will tell you about a price change where the law requires it, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
No warranty
Clockroo is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its estimates will match what your employer pays. This does not limit any rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Virtual Coder Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost wages or pay, or disputes with your employer arising from your use of Clockroo. Our total liability to you for anything connected with Clockroo is limited to the greater of what you paid for Clockroo in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Apple
These terms are between you and Virtual Coder Inc., not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Clockroo. If Clockroo fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, which will refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation for Clockroo. We, not Apple, are responsible for claims about Clockroo, including product liability, legal compliance and intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not in a country under a US embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited parties.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except that if you are a consumer, you keep any right you have under the mandatory laws of the place where you live to use the courts there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date above and tell you in the app or by email before the update takes effect. If you keep using Clockroo after that, you accept the updated terms.
